Google has announced that it is extending the availability of its personalised search function, with signed-out users now able to utilise the tool as well.

Google 'extends personalised search' Writing on the company’s blog, software engineer and Bryan Horling and product manager Matthew Kulick commented that the feature was previously only available to people who sign in to their online Google account.

This has now been altered so that even those who have not logged in can use the tool, through an anonymous cookie in their internet browser.

Mr Horling and Mr Kulick stated that the software looks at a user’s searches over the previous 180 days and offers what it feels are the most relevant results, which may alter the way SEO marketing services are delivered.

They added: "You’ll know when we customise results because a ‘View customisations’ link will appear on the top right of the search results page."

Last week, the company announced that they have developed their Google Finance feature, so news is streamed in real time to the function’s homepage.
