A new search engine service has been launched by Microsoft’s Bing brand which will offer consumers a new way of finding out about medical conditions and institutions.

Bing Unveils Health Search Writing on the official blog for the search engine, Alain Rappaport explained that the tool allows users to find relevant documents from a library of medical resources, in order to develop understanding of an illness.

In a move that could alter the use of SEO services in the health sector, individuals will be offered instant advice regarding their query as well as a list of further links that may be of use, he continued.

Mr Rappaport said: "Bing uncovers key related topics by analysing an index of medical sources and extracting meaningful data automatically."

In his view, the goal of this search engine function is to help people make better decisions.

Last week, Bing revealed that it offers online users instant statistics regarding NBA basketball players and teams.
