It’s been widely reported that Twitter will be added to the Collins English Dictionary when the 30th anniversary edition is published later this year.

Twitter is going to be entered as both a verb and noun with the following definitions:

Noun: “a website where people can post short messages about their current activities”

Verb: “to write short messages on the Twitter website”

It will be joined by “Twitterati” referring to the site’s user community and by “Twitterverse” which will be used to describe the website and its users.

At least now we can refer to Twittering (I think) with a semblance of credibility.
